Creating Accessible Spaces in the Youth Movement
Zine Workshop with Hannah Eaton
What is your dream of accessible community spaces for making change?
Join us for a workshop that will explore zine-making as an act of resistance and resource for considering access and inclusion in climate/activism spaces.
Reflecting on challenges and hopes for access within the youth movement we will a zine page using any material you like at home!
Participants will be invited to contribute their work towards a collective zine to take home - and for inclusion in our community archive project Creating Solidarities and Eradicating Silences.
- When : Tuesday 23rd June, 6:30 -8:30pm
- Where: Online (Zoom)
- Who: Aimed towards disabled/ neurodivergent people and those interested in disability and climate justice (ages 16 - 30)
- Accessibility: There will be invitations to participate in interactive sections, including a breakout activity, these are optional as are having mic and cameras on. Full agenda below. All you need for the session is a pen and paper - welcome to use other kinds of material to develop their page (paints, collage etc) but this is not essential.
Artist Bio: Hannah Eaton (she/they) is an artist from the Highlands, now based in Paisley, who uses crafts to raise awareness of a wide range of social justice issues including disability accessibility, LGBTQ+ equality, human rights and climate justice. Hannah aims to bring people together in safe and inclusive spaces to share the joy of crafting and enable participants to have their voices heard on issues that matter to them.
