Launch Night: Spike Island Open Studios 2026
Book your place at the opening night of Spike Island Open Studios 2026
Spike Island Open Studios is back 1–3 May 2026! Offering free behind-the-scenes access to its 80,000-square-foot arts space over a vibrant weekend of exhibitions and events.
From 2—4 May, fans of art, culture and design are invited to see the expansive network of artist studios, galleries, and creative businesses that inhabit the former tea-packing factory, as well as the working studios of UWE Fine Arts programmes and award-winning Spike Print Studio, the largest open-access print studio in the South West.
Fans of art, culture and design are invited to explore the sprawling former tea-packing factory turned arts centre and participate in a 3-day programme of workshops, performances, exhibitions, film screenings, family-friendly events and demonstrations. This year’s Open Studios is particularly special as it celebrates Spike Island’s 50th year since its founding as Artspace Bristol in 1976.
Additionally, a variety of Bristol-based street-food and drinks vendors will be situated across the site to fuel your Open Studios visit, including Spike Island’s ever-popular on-site Emmeline café and bar.
This is a free event. As an arts charity, our work is made possible by the support of our visitors and supporters. Please consider donating what you can at checkout, to help directly support our work and continue to make space for Bristol artists to thrive.
