Join a relaxed walk led by local wildlife experts around the beautiful chalk grassland of Foreness Point. Learn about the designated ‘local wildlife site’ and its management while exploring the area's bumblebees and wildflowers.This guided nature walk is perfect for connecting with the local open space and learning about the area. It's best suited for those aged 14 and up, and will last for 2.5 hours. We'll be walking along medium-difficulty terrain, mostly on grassland paths. Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather on the day (rain gear if it's wet, sunscreen or a hat if it's sunny!) as well as sturdy shoes!This walk will be led by bumblebee expert Simon Springate (Bumblebee Conservation Trust), with Phoebe Cullingworth (Tree &amp; Biodiversity Coordinator, TDC) &amp; Tony Child (Thanet Coast Project).Online bookings only - as numbers will be limited - with a suggested donation of £5 to £10pp. PLEASE NOTE:<ol><li>You need to 'SELECT A WALK DATE' first</li><li>Each booking is for ONE PERSON ONLY</li><li>So you will need to repeat with a new booking for a 'second' - or for each subsequent - person, along with a donation!</li></ol>WHEN:<ul><li>Sunday 17 May, 10.30am (Simon/Tony only)or</li><li>Saturday 13 June, 10:30am, or</li><li>Saturday 4 July, 10:30am</li></ul> MEET: On the grass OPPOSITE Palm Bay Primary School.Friend's Gap - Palm Bay Avenue, Cliftonville, Margate, Kent CT9 3PPToilets: There are NO toilet facilities on this walk. The closest is the portaloo toilets at the Botany Bay, at the entrance to the beach including a disabled toilet (The nearest regular disabled access toilet is at the accessible Botany Bay hotel which has a horizontal grab rail)If not walking or cycling, then getting there by other transport:Cars: Parking is free along this section of Palm Bay AvenueBus routes: The Loop bus route will require a 15 minute walk from Northdown RoadRail: Via Margate Railway Station (55min walk) to the start point (or slight help with the bus route from Cecil Sq to Northdown Rd).
