Wicca: Beginners Course London (1-day Woodland based)

Are you naturally Witchy and drawn to spellcraft? Does the full moon, and wild winds, the dark of the night, and the hoots of the owl excite you? Do you long to be with fellow witches and worship the old Gods & Goddesses of nature, and practice the Art Magical? Or are you a total beginner and just curious about where Wicca will lead you? If you answered yes to one or more of these, then this course may be the begining of your path or a stop over in a winding journey into the WiseCraft.

It doesn't matter who you are in the mundane world - male, female, gender fluid, genderless, gay, bisexual, young, old, English, non-English, professional, ordinary, vulnerable, empowered.. What matters is your pulse quickening at the thought of being a witch!

Wicca & Witchcraft is a mystery-religious tradition that includes worship of the divine as as a Horned God of the wild woods & Triple Moon Goddess (and many other deities),. We works with natural energies of the 4 Elements Air, Fire, Water, earth, and use ritual magic & Spellcraft for personal empowerment and bettering our lives.

Origins of Wicca:

Started by Gerald B Gardner in the mid 1950's in Southern England, UK, and aided by Doreen Valiente, the `Gardnerian Wicca lineage' grew. Alex & Maxine Saunders began a parallel path later called `Alexandrian Wicca'. These were initiatory paths where participants practised in private Covens! Since then Wicca has grown internationally and evolved with many facets.

Contents of this Course

This is an introduction-level experiential course that aims to cover all essentials of Wiccan path with explanations, and ritual works demonstrated;

• There will be a 1 hr lunch break & few short breaks as needed. (Please be back on time at course-area after breaks).

Pathworking & meditation are used for opening, chants & circle dance are included for energy raising; You'll learn about wiccan tools/ techniques, and some understanding of invoking God & Goddess and working with those energies. Some transpersonal Psychology & shadow work is briefly introduced as part of the development.

• Altar & Magical tools
• Sacred Space: Sweeping; purifications; Consecrations.
• Elements, Gateways & Quarters;
• Group energy raising.
• Horned God & Moon Godddes in Wicca.
• Ritual magic in Wicca .
• Wheel of the year. 8 Sabats & 13 Esbats.
• Initiations & Coven.

This course serves as a sound introduction for all Seekers interested in Wiccan path - either as a standalone exploration for you, or progressing to further study that can lead to initiation and training in a Coven!

Co-facilitator: Rachel - Initiated Wicca; Coven leader, vastly experienced HedgeWitch.

After the Course - Wiccan Apprentice.

Those wishing to progress further beyond this course are encouraged to attend our monthly circles for lives in apprentice style training. Speak to Mani about this privately

Important notes on cancellations / updates:

If severe weather or other local issues arise, the event may be postponed or cancelled. In such a case, full refund will be given to those who paid in advance.

Meeting point / Time:

• Between 10.30am- 11am. Windmill Tea rooms, Windmill Rd, Wimbledon, London SW19 5NQ

This course takes place entirely in a quiet area in a public woods. However We meet *outside* At Windmill Tea room (seating area) . Then we will go to the woods to do the Course (few minutes walk into the woods to a quiet space with log circles to sit). . Course will end by approx 6.30pm.

Rain: If it's wet/ raining, we will put up a Tarp cover, as we have done in previous outdoor workshops.

Travel: From Wimbledon or Putney, take the bus No 93. Alight at bus stop "Parkside Hospital' . Then walk into `Windmill Road' and walk about 5-10mins. You will see the actual Windmill. Turn right towards car park and veer left into Cafe/ Tea rooms.

Car park/ cafe/ toilets: This place has free car park / toilet facilities. Car park fills up so get there early to park.

Cafe spending: It has most types of food/ breakfast / coffees etc. If using card payment, there may be a minimum spend. There are long queues.

Own food/ drinks; You can bring your own packed lunch or snacks.. but can't eat those in cafe area. But we have the whole woods !!

• Please refrain from eating during actual delivery of the course as it can be distacting to tutors and other attendees who wish to focus and stay in a magiacl mind-set.

What to wear / bring: Please dress really appropriate for weather! Even on a sunny day, it can get cold quickly.***

• Good water-proof coats, proper boots/ shoes for mud/ rain; Gloves, scarf. hats; possibly a bag/ ruck sack to put all your belonging and set aside (on the ground, when doing ritual).
• Bring a soft cushion to sit on (as we'll be seated on logs or the ground).
• Bring a blanket to wrap up for your comfort.
• Bring a hot flask of drink for your self and any snacks for breaktime.

POLICY----

• We have a strict NO DRUGS policy at all times. Some wine may be shared as part of ritual; No children alowed. This is for 18+ yrs of age only. No photos / recording during the course delivery; No media/ journalism/ student interviews at this event; We are fully LGBTQP+ inclusive; You are responsible for your own safety at all times; Do not share personal details with anyone untill you get to know them; Please report any bullying or harrasment to Tutor asap;

About Mani (facilitator) :
Mani is an initiated Witch & Gardnerian High Priest, with 30 years of Wicca Experience - starting his wiccan path in mid 90's by studying under Craft elders Dr.Vivianne Crowley & Chris Crowley. Mani has been running private Covens & public rituals since 2001. ` Mani has a Physics B.Sc degree, training in Transpersonal Psychology & counselling, and blends some Hindu & Shamanic practices into pagan rituals.
