A day for biological recorders to make species records on an interesting site
Cofnod will facilitate a day recording wildlife at this private site. Moth trapping has occurred on site, but the owners are very interested to find out what other species inhabit their land. Habitat Wet and semi-wet meadow/rush-pasture with extensive areas of Polytrichum and Sphagnum with an upland feel. Walking conditions Walking boots or perhaps wellies depending on recent rainfall. Site is compact and gently sloped. Current management Very low intensity Horse grazing. Facilities Bring a packed lunch, but the owners have promised soup! Toilets available on site. Very limited parking on site, but plenty available at the nearby slate quarry (5 minutes’ walk away).
