Come learn about the process of verifying adult deaths and the necessary steps to take when expected deaths occur.

St Michael's Hospice is hosting a training session on the theory and practical considerations for the verification of an expected adult death.

This session is open to registered nurses working in the Sussex ICB area, and will be facilitated by our Quality Lead Nurse.

Fully funded by NHS Sussex, this session is open to all Sussex employees in health and social care.

If you are based outside of Sussex, a £50 charge applies.

This training session will cover:

  • What is an expected death.
  • The legal process and your responsibilities.
  • The difference between verification and certification of death.
  • Current and future legislation.
  • The practical skills required to verify an expected death.
  • Care after death.

Places are limited and booking is essential - we encourage early registration to secure your space. Please note that you will need to provide your NMC PIN to attend.

A statement of participation will be provided to all those who attend.
