Overview

Join our May Connect Webinar about how global mobility and Christian witness reshapes the church. Wed 20 May, 1-3pm via Zoom. Register now!

Modern migration is not only a demographic challenge but also a theological catalyst for change. As people move across borders, whether by choice or by force, they are reshaping the global Church and challenging traditional Western-centred mission models.

Join us for our May Churches Connect Webinar to explore the intersection of global mobility and Christian witness. With Pastor Mitch Hamilton, we will look into how the movement of the Gospel is closely connected to the movement of people. And how, by recognising migrants as active participants in spiritual renewal and leadership and by engaging these migration pathways, the Church is invited beyond crisis response into a deeper, reciprocal mission that listens to and learns from the lived realities of people on the move.

About the Speaker:

Pastor Mitch Hamilton is a diaspora missiologist who collaborates with churches, mission leaders, and faith-based organisations to deepen understanding of migration and equip them to engage effectively with people on the move. Following nearly 30 years of pastoral ministry in urban contexts across the United States, Mitch and his wife Teresa relocated to North Africa in 2015.

Their work tracks migration pathways, with a specific focus on sub-Saharan African peoples across their points of origin, transit, and destination. Much of their insight is shared through M2M3.org, a platform where they reflect on the intersection of migration, ministry, and the lived realities of displaced populations.

Mitch holds advanced degrees in World Christian Studies, Missiology, and Biblical Studies. While he continues to teach and contribute to international academic settings, his primary focus remains on listening, learning, and helping others respond faithfully to the unique opportunities presented by global migration.
