Overview

Worcestershire has an unusual number of Arts and Crafts churches - this talk explores them and the designers and craftspeople who made them.

Why does Worcestershire have so much material from the Arts and Crafts Movement in its churches? Close to Birmingham and many Arts and Crafts makers there, there were also designers and makers based in the county such as the influential Bromsgrove Guild - but that's definitely not all! We'll explore a number of churches in the county and look at stained glass, wood carving, metalwork and more in older churches. This lavishly illustrated talk by Kirsty Hartsiotis looks at rarely seen buildings in a till now underexplored county.
