Learn how to turn flax into fiber at this Earth Week workshop at The Loop End of Cycle Celebration in Hackney Wick

Flax processing workshop by Fantasy Fibre Mill In this hands-on workshop you will learn how to extract flax fibres from the flax plant using hand tools. These fibres can then be spun and woven into linen fabric. There will be a spinning wheel for you have a try at hand spinning the fibres into yarn. Fantasy Fibre Mill will also discuss the current state of flax to linen processing in the UK and the work taking place to restore linen production in a non-extractive, agro-ecological way.This event is part of The Earth Week Hackney Wick: The Loop End-of-Cycle Celebration, sponsored by Arbeit Studios via Hacney Council's Local Activation Fund.
