Overview

Discover the impact of art as a form of protest at an event highlighting gender-based violence.

Speakers: Melissa Chacón, Mora Fernández, and Harriet Gray

Discover the impact of art as a form of protest.

Our powerful exhibition and accompanying talk bring resistance against gender-based violence into the spotlight. Learn how a York-Mexico City collaboration is foregrounding the work of diverse ARTivists from across Mexico, and view photographs and a zine generated as part of an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC)-funded project.

Join Melissa Chacón and Harriet Gray of the University of York and Mora Fernández of La Casa Mandarina – an independent non-profit organisation based in Mexico City devoted to ending sexual violence through ARTivism.

The talk is pre-bookable, but you can drop in to see the exhibition in the Garden Room anytime between 11am to 4.30pm.
