BSWN is a Black-led racial justice infrastructure organisation. Our over-arching strategic intent is to build dynamic, independent, and strong Black communities, businesses and organisations that are empowered to flourish while challenging systemic barriers and forging a true path for themselves. We believe that only through this will we significantly address racial inequality.Our work falls into three broad areas - Cross-sector Enterprise and Innovation; Cultural Inclusion; Research and Knowledge – with Scrutiny and Accountability and Representation and Power as over-arching themes that cut through all our work.

Our Social Housing Drop-in sessions provide a useful starting point to bridging the gap by addressing questions and concerns members of racially minoritised communities have regarding social housing.

These sessions create a space for honest questions, practical support, and building stronger links between the Council and the communities it serves. Who is this event for?This event is for Black and Minoritised council housing tenants of Bristol City Council who live around Redcliffe and who wish to engage with the Council and resolve queries around the following issues:<ul><li>Anti-Social Behaviour</li><li>Damp and Mould</li><li>HomeChoice</li><li>Repairs &amp; Maintenance</li><li>Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service (WRAMAS) </li></ul>What will be covered?Council housing tenants will have access to a one-on-one meeting with Housing representatives. Who will we hear from?Representatives from Bristol City Council:<ul><li>Housing Management and Estates Team on anti social behaviour,</li><li>Repairs and Maintenance Team on damp, mould and repairs</li><li>Housing Allocations Team on HomeChoice</li><li>Welfare Rights and Money Advice Service (WRAMAS)</li><li>The local area’s Housing Officer</li></ul> What else do I need to know?Please note that registration for this event does not guarantee that you will be seen by an officer. Attendees will be served on a first-come, first-serve basis. To ensure that your query is seen, please come as early as you can.
