Overview

Explore Sauchiehall Street’s history of nightlife in a relaxed, creative collaging workshop with Anna Shankie and Aimee Lowee.

Sauchiehall Street was once famed for its nightlife and music venues – spaces which have shaped social life in Glasgow. In this workshop, we will explore materials from the Mitchell Library’s Special Collection and discuss the history of venues loved - and those lost - linking memories with social history of music, spectacle and nights out in Glasgow.

During the workshop, you will be invited to add to a collective collage using archival, found imagery and prompts to create speculative visions for what Sauchiehall Street’s future nightlife.

You will be invited to share your own memories of nights out - clubs, gigs, performances, and moments of gathering – whilst our hands are busy making.

This is a free event, but booking is required to help us keep an eye on numbers.
