The Magento community has always built things worth using. This is a half-day to prove it.
The MMUK Hackathon is a focused, community-run fringe event at Meet Magento UK 2026 – co-organised by JH and members of the Magento open source community. The theme is AI in open source commerce: what can we actually build, together, in four hours, that moves the ecosystem forward?
Teams will work on real problems at the intersection of Magento and AI – whether that's smarter merchandising, LLM-powered tooling, or open source contributions that others can take and run with. The format is tight. The output is real. And the people in the room will be the ones best placed to build it.
This is a community hackathon, not a vendor showcase. If you care about where Magento goes next, this is the room to be in.
Who should come
Magento developers and solution architects who want to build, not just talk. Product and commercial people who want to work alongside the technical community. Anyone who's been watching AI land in commerce and wants to do something with it.

EVENT FLOW – July 2026
10:00: Arrival & team formation
10:15: Build sprint Core working session. Community mentors and JH team circulate. Separate zones for focused heads-down work. Refreshments throughout.
13:15: Submission & pitch prep Tools down. Finalise build and prepare a 3-minute pitch – what did you make, why does it matter, could the community use it?
13:45: Demo presentations 3-minute pitch, 2-minute Q&A with the judging panel.
15:00: Awards & close Winners announced. Winning project name-checked on the main MMUK stage the following day.
