Piano SmithfieldLondon, England
Overview

Soul-stirring music and uplifting energy as Rev21 blends the spirit of gospel with funky grooves, powerhouse horns and vibrant improvisation

Doors - 4pm

Music - 5pm

Rev21 is a dynamic 8-piece gospel jazz band that brings together rich musicality, soulful energy, and an uplifting message. Drawing on influences from gospel greats like Israel Houghton and Kirk Franklin, as well as the bold brass sounds of Tower of Power and Trombone Shorty, and the grooves of soul and jazz, Rev21 creates music that’s both powerful and joyful.

Formed by a group of musicians who met through London’s vibrant music and church communities, the band blends deep musical training with a shared passion for faith and creativity. Members of Rev21 studied at some of the UK’s leading music institutions — including the Royal Academy of Music and Guildhall School of Music — and each brings their own voice and experience from the UK jazz, blues, and soul scenes.

The members of Rev21 regularly perform at top jazz venues across London, bringing their music to audiences at clubs such as Ronnie Scott’s, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Jazz Café, and others. Their performances are known for their energy, warmth, and musical excellence — with vibrant horn arrangements, tight grooves, and powerful vocals that keep crowds grooving along from start to finish.

In 2024, the band released their debut album, Let Them Hear — a collection of original songs that showcase their signature sound and heart. Alongside their own material, Rev21 is known for reimagining gospel classics with fresh arrangements that bridge genres and generations.

Whether in a concert venue or a community space, Rev21 brings a sound that’s rooted in soul, built on faith, and open to all.
