Conservative Friends of India

A training session for all CFIndia members on keeping safe online.

This session will be led by CFIndia member Sapna Chadha. Sapna is the founder of UK Cyber Plan, launched in 2026 to help businesses and organisations assess their cyber risk and build practical cyber resilience. Until December 2025 she was CEO of the Cyber Resilience Centre for London, working directly with SMEs to prepare for and protect against cyber threats. She has held senior roles across UK government, business and the science and technology sectors, and is also the founder of London Tech Futures, a non-profit giving young Londoners access to digital skills and tech opportunities.Sapna is Vice Chair of the Conservative Science and Technology Forum, Deputy Chair Membership of Brent East Conservative Association and a member of Conservative Friends of India. She brings frontline community experience and a no-jargon approach to making cyber safety accessible to everyone.A recent incident in which a member's WhatsApp was compromised led to fellow CfoI members being contacted by fraudsters impersonating them. This 40-minute webinar is a direct response, giving members practical, jargon-free advice to protect themselves online and on social media.Sapna will cover how the CfoI incident happened and why it is so common, the key steps everyone can take that same day to secure their accounts, and a top 10 tips guide to staying cyber safe covering strong passwords, two-factor authentication, securing your social media privacy settings and what to do if something goes wrong. The session then moves to the growing threat of AI voice and deepfake scams, before closing with three immediate actions and ten minutes for Q&amp;A. No technical background needed.
