Overview

Informal structured conversation with Anna Price on how we can partner with God in the wider community.

Sofa Talk: Beyond the Church Walls

Friday 14th May, 7.30-9.15pm

Union Church - based at Philadelphia WRC building (Upperthorpe Rd, S6 3EA)

Sofa Talks are an informal structured conversation where we hear from an 'outside voice'. It's usally 45 mins of listening to an interview, followed by open Q&A discussion.

This time, we're glad to invite Anna Price who will speak on the topic of Partnering with God in the Wider Community.

Anna is a parent of three teens and married to Matthew Price who is the vicar of St Mary Magdalene church Gorleston, where she's employed as the Community and Discipleship Lead. She has trained in theology at Oak Hill College, spent 6 years on mission in Lithuania and Uganda. She's currently experiencing the joy of church growth through holistic, community-centred ministry.

Anna will be reflecting on her experiences of serving in Gorleston which is an area of significant deprivation on the east coast. Her stories are fascinating and encouraging, as she's seen ways of partnering with God 'beyond the church walls'. We'll be discussing:

  • How do we view the wider community - a threat or co-collaborators?
  • What does the Church uniquely provide the community?
  • Does the Church always need to serve from a position of strength?

This is a FREE event, but please register if you hope to attend.
