Overview

Unwind with a guided Constructive Rest session. Release tension, calm your body and reset your nervous system with Alexander Technique.

Give yourself half an hour to unwind your body and settle your nervous system. Even if the date doesn't work for you, please consider booking anyway as I'll send you the audio recording to reuse repeatedly for best benefits.

In this guided online Constructive Rest session, Alexander Technique teacher Lucy Ascham will lead you through a simple lying‑down practice designed to help you release tension, calm your mind and restore a little bit of ease.

This is not passive relaxation but a gentle, practical way of using your attention to support your whole self. No experience necessary, newcomers and experienced students - all bodies welcome.

All you need is a mat or blanket and a few books for head support.

After the 30‑minute practice, there’s time for questions so you can deepen your understanding and take the benefits into daily life. Many people enjoy time to hear other's experiences from the class.

I will send the audio recording to all who book, whether you can attend live or not.

“You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
for a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves." Mary Oliver

I look forward to seeing you

Lucy

ps after the guided talk and constructive rest, you can join a Q&A and ask the teacher anything. People seem to enjoy sharing their experiences and hearing other people's perspectives and what they noticed

pps only my guided session is recorded and sent out as an Audio file for all to enjoy later
