Navigating Changes in Motability, PA Training & Updates on PAs Working in Hospital Settings

Changing Landscapes: Navigating Changes in Motability, PA Training & Updates on PAs Working in Hospital SettingsThere’s now less than a week to go until our next main event. In a slight departure from the norm, we’ll be covering three highly topical issues that we know will affect many of our members within ILG Community and beyond. Our first topic is the Motability Scheme. Following our recent Facebook appeal, we’re hoping to answer some of the questions you submitted. We know that recent changes and updates can feel confusing and emotive, so this session will offer a clear snapshot of where things currently stand. We’re also delighted to be joined by advocate, campaigner and TikTok influencer Sara Bugg, who set up Chronic But Thriving. Sara will be sharing her experiences, talking about her campaigning work, and explaining how people can make their voices heard. Our second discussion will focus on the recent changes to how funding for PA training is managed, following the transfer from Skills for Care to NHS Business Services Authority. We’ll be joined by representatives from the Department of Health and Social Care. Finally, we’ll provide an update on a topic frequently discussed within our community: PAs in hospitals. Committee member Sarah has been working on this issue for around five years and will give a recap of progress so far, along with some important new developments. She’ll be joined by campaigner Nina Parry, who continues to work tirelessly to bring this issue the attention it deserves. There will be opportunities to submit questions via the chat, and we’ll do our utmost to address them during the session or signpost you to further support where possible. We look forward to seeing you there!
