Grief Gathering - Lakeside Arts, Nottingham

Overview

a supportive space for anyone experiencing feelings of loss

You’re warmly invited to The Grief Gathering — for anyone who is experiencing grief and would like to connect with others and explore creativity as a way to express and move through it.

What is a Grief Gathering?

  • Simple, creative ways to explore your loss experience at your own pace (painting, collage, sculpting, drawing, writing & more — no experience required)
  • A calm, supportive space to explore grief and loss with people who share understanding but without the need to talk.
  • Gentle guided breathing to support relaxation and connection
  • A place to come as you are - welcoming anyone experiencing loss of any kind
  • Loss may be connected to bereavement, health changes, identity shifts, relationship breakdowns, employment changes, world events, etc

“It was a deeply supportive experience to explore profound grief through sensory and creative play, without any obligation to speak—an approach that felt both gentle and empowering.” -Gathering Participant

The Grief Gatherings create gentle spaces that refill your cup when it feels empty — blending collective support with simple, creative, and sensory practices. Meet yourself wherever you are - there’s no right or wrong way to grieve — only a shared space to gently be.

*Booking is essential as spaces are limited.

**This gathering is open to anyone aged 13 and over (those under 18 must be accompanied by an adult).

***If the cost is a barrier for you please contact us for support

This event is supported by Lakeside Arts, the Institute of Mental Health, Nottingham University, Dancers Professionals Fund and Space Clarence Mews.
