Sound Bath and Singing in the Walled Garden, Wells

Sound Bath and Singing in the Walled Garden, Wells

Wells & Mendip MuseumWells, England
Overview

Enjoy a relaxing sound bath in the tranquil and acoustically perfect hall space, followed by singing with drum in the private walled garden

Welcome to the Sounds Peachey Sound Bath and Vocal Chanting experience! This is a popular summer event, combining beautiful sound with the magic venue of Wells Museum and its walled garden.

What to expect:

Kate, Kim and Celeste will create a sound bath experience for you. We play many instruments, including two gongs, crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, and grounding percussion. The sounds induce a state of relaxation and calm. We will have a short introduction to bring us into the space and be present.

Weather permitting, we will move from the sound bath to singng into the beautiful walled garden, where we stand or dance barefoot in the grass if desired, and play percussive instruments as we sing. Our chants are simple, mainly Native American in style, calling to the elements, Mother Earth, and our own inner beauty.

The lecture hall is carpeted and light. The walled garden is completely enclosed. As the museum closes at 4pm, we will deliciously have the venue and the walled garden to ourselves. We will be able to sing outdoors in complete privacy, if weather permits.

What to bring:

If you wish to lie on the carpeted floor, please bring a yoga mat, pillow and blanket for your comfort. If the floor is too low for you, we can supply an upright chair.

You are most welcome to bring your own rattle and/or drum for the singing. You may also wish to bring water.

The venue:

Our room is inside the museum and is accessed via a left side gate as you face the museum entrance. Please wait in the foyer until we have prepared the room for you. The site has ramps and accessible toilets.

Instruments:

If you are fascinated by the instruments, as many of us are, please talk to us at the end. We are happy to answer questions and allow you to use the instruments with our supervision.

Parking:

There is very limited parking at the venue. Waitrose offers paid parking and is a 10 minute walk to the venue. Disabled spots are immediately outside the venue.
