Who are Catch22
Catch22 is a national organisation with over 10 years of experience delivering specialist support for young people affected by county lines, child criminal exploitation and child sexual exploitation. We currently deliver the National County Lines Support and Rescue service- providing 1-2-1 support and a rescue service for young people and their families who are criminally exploited through county lines.
Session overview
This session is aimed at parent/carers(including foster carers/grandparents) to gain a understanding on the important issues surrounding knife crime, as well as the impact and support that this has on young people and their families, affected by knife crime.
Topics will include
- Understanding what Knife Crime is ?
- Exploring the significant impact Knife Crime has on young people and their families.
- Identifying the types of weapons most commonly carried
- Exploring accessibility and how & where knives are being obtained from.
- Understanding the factors that heighten knife crime / serious youth violence in our communities.
- Considering the wider consequences of knife crime for communities and gain an understanding of the legal implications of carrying a knife.
- Emphasisng the importance of early intervention, education, and strong multi‑agency safeguarding in preventing knife carrying.

However, if you need to speak to someone confidentially about an individual child or young person, we will be able to refer or signpost you to specialist advice during or following the session.
