With data increasingly critical to the success of retrofit programmes, attention is turning to how it is used in practice; not just to plan delivery, but to understand performance and improve outcomes over time.

Accompanying the launch of SHAP’s Retrofit Success Guides, this session is part of our ‘Retrofit Success’ Lunch and Learn series – practical conversations about what it really takes to for retrofit to succeed.

We’ll be joined by Peter McBride (UK Sales Director, Mixergy) and Mike Leonard (Visiting Professor, The Centre for Future Homes, Birmingham City University), who will share reflections from their work across technology, delivery and research, including how data is being used to understand performance, optimise systems and inform future retrofit programmes.

Together, they will explore what this looks like in practice, from developing and applying smart hot water systems in real-world settings, to analysing post-retrofit data to better understand performance, effectiveness and long-term outcomes.

Drawing on insights from the Data and Digitalisation Retrofit Success Guide , this session will explore:

• How data is shaping the design and optimisation of smart technologies, including learning from connected hot water systems
• What real-world application looks like, including the challenges of systems not always working seamlessly together
• How post-retrofit data is being used to understand performance and inform future interventions
• What collaboration between industry and academia is telling us about improving retrofit delivery

As always, there will be plenty of time for Q&A and open discussion.
