Quantifying and Optimising Care Pathways

Quantifying and Optimising Care Pathways

Online event
Wednesday, June 3  •  12 PM - 1 PM GMT+1
Overview

An introduction to the CARESA tool

Do you know the environmental impact of your care pathway?

Care pathways account for approximately 40% of healthcare emissions, yet quantifying that impact and knowing where to act can be a significant challenge for even the most sustainability-focused teams. What if the tools to model, measure, and improve that impact were directly in the hands of the clinicians and pathway designers who understand them best?

The Centre for Sustainable Healthcare is pleased to introduce is pleased to introduce the CARESA (CARe pathways Environmental Sustainability Assessment) modelling tool: a pioneering, purpose-built platform designed to do exactly that.

Funded by AstraZeneca and developed in partnership with Maverex, CARESA combines multiple data sources to calculate environmental impact across CO₂ equivalents, waste, and water usage. Its flexible structure enables application across all disease areas and geographies, and crucially, it is designed to be accessible without the need for specialist input. Teams can model pathway impact, explore redesign scenarios, and generate robust evidence in support of their sustainability goals.

Join us for a conversation with the team behind CARESA, exploring the tool's journey from conception to beta testing, a live demonstration, and guidance on how to access CARESA following its launch.

What the session will cover:

  • The development of CARESA, from conception through to beta testing
  • A technical overview of the tool's methodology and data inputs
  • Live demonstration with an opportunity for questions
  • Guidance on how to access CARESA following its launch

Who should attend?

This webinar is particularly relevant to:

  • Clinicians and healthcare professionals
  • Those working in clinical pathway design
  • Sustainability strategy leads
  • Procurement and commissioning professionals
  • Health systems researchers
