Block Printing on Fabric — A Workshop at Dolphin Gallery
Print your own designs onto fabric using lino and wood blocks. Hands-on evening workshop for all levels — wine and nibbles included. £45.
Join us at Dolphin Gallery for an evening of block printing on fabric with Sue Wheeler — a practical, creative session where you'll leave with printed pieces you've made by hand.
What you'll do
You'll learn how to print with lino and wood blocks onto fabric, working with a range of designs and colours on test pieces before choosing your final item to print. Sue will also demonstrate how to make your own printing blocks at home, so you can keep creating long after the evening is over.
Once you've found your feet, you can choose to print onto a tea towel, apron, bag, or t-shirt — all included in the ticket price. Additional items are available to purchase on the night.
You're also welcome to bring your own items to print onto — t-shirts, napkins, cushion covers, loose fabric, or anything else you'd like to personalise. Please note: fabric should be a natural material (cotton, linen, etc.) rather than synthetic, as this gives the best results with fabric ink.
Everything you print will need to be ironed at home once you're back — this sets the ink so it becomes permanent and washable.
What's included
Your ticket (£45) covers the workshop and all materials, including inks, printing equipment, and a choice of item to print onto (tea towel, apron, bag, or t-shirt). Wine and nibbles are included too.
What to wear
Please bring an apron or wear old clothes — fabric ink can stain.
Experience level
Suitable for all levels. No previous experience needed.
Places are limited to 10 — book early to secure yours.
