Newcastle Culture Partnership: NECA Consultation Event

Newcastle Culture Partnership: NECA Consultation Event

Overview

Join this event and share your thoughts for North East Combined Authority’s draft Culture, Creative Industries & Sport Strategic Plan.

What would best support growth and opportunity in the North East’s cultural and creative landscape? What do we need to tackle the key challenges?

Join this event and share your thoughts for North East Combined Authority’s (NECA)draft Culture, Creative Industries & Sport Strategic Plan.

This two-hour session at Great North Museum invites cultural organisations, organisation leaders, artists, venue staff in all roles, freelancers and community practitioners to find out about and discuss the themes and priorities in NECA’s draft strategy.

Hosted by Keith Merrin (North East Museums / Newcastle Gateshead Cultural Venues) and Annie Rigby (Unfolding Theatre), the session also welcomes Sarah Hughes (North East Combined Authority).

Sarah will introduce the headlines and themes of NECA’s draft strategy. From there, this event will make space for us to ask questions, discuss the strategy and offer thoughts and feedback.

NECA’s draft plan is a region-wide strategy. This Newcastle Culture Partnership hosted event will be discussing it from a Newcastle perspective, while recognising many people’s work spreads beyond the city.

Alongside this discussion, we will share updates on how Newcastle Culture Partnership continues to develop and discuss plans for future events.

Ten £75 bursaries are available to support freelance artists and community practitioners to attend. If a bursary would help you attend, please email info@unfoldingtheatre.co.uk .

There were more requests for bursaries than the last Newcastle Culture Partnership event budget could stretch to. This is brilliant in that it demonstrates demand from freelancers. But obviously made for tough decisions! As a result, we have posted a question in NE Cultural Freelancers Facebook group, so freelancers can set the criteria for decision-making if we are over-subscribed again. You can add your thoughts here.

This will be a relaxed event. You are welcome to come and go, get up and move around.

You don’t need to bring any prior knowledge about NE Combined Authority’s draft strategy. Just yourself and your unique perspective!
