John Crawford’s Latin Quartet
Jazz meets Latin soul.
John Crawford’s music seems to carry you somewhere else entirely… from smoky late-night jazz clubs to sun-soaked Latin streets alive with rhythm and colour.

Born in London with English and Spanish roots, John was raised on the blues before immersing himself in salsa, flamenco and Afro-Cuban traditions — influences that continue to shape his wonderfully rich, layered and deeply expressive sound.
Over the years, he has performed at some of the world’s most celebrated festivals and venues, including Montreal, North Sea and San Sebastián Jazz Festivals, Ronnie Scott’s, the Royal Albert Hall and London’s 606 Club, building a reputation for music that is vibrant, soulful and utterly transportive.
His acclaimed albums — Ulia River of Time, Times and Tides and most recently Room for Dancing — beautifully reflect a lifetime of musical exploration, travel and rhythmic passion. There is warmth and lyricism in everything John plays, but always, too, that irresistible pulse of Latin groove running through the music.
John has collaborated with an extraordinary range of artists, from Airto Moreira and Norma Winstone to Björk and Tony Kofi, while also helping to shape influential projects including Grupo X and ISQ. Alongside his performing career, he is also a deeply respected educator whose books on Latin piano are used by musicians around the world.
