Fiona Robertson discusses her megalithic new memoir Stone Lands, a personal journey of darkness and light through Britain's ancient places
Author Fiona Robertson discusses her megalithic new memoir Stone Lands, a personal journey of grief, magic and memory through Britain's ancient places.
Both a compelling memoir and a travelogue of Britain's ancient landscapes, Fiona Robertson's new book Stone Lands scales the length and breadth of Britain to discover the wonder of its standing stones. A few months after Robertson's husband, Stephen, was diagnosed with incurable cancer, she began writing, finding new resonance and comfort in these everlasting megaliths as she contemplated losing him. Positioned thousands of years ago and steeped in mystery and folklore, the stones stand for endurance and survival, offering light in times of darkness.
Fiona Robertson is a writer, editor and a long-time megalith enthusiast who has been seeking out standing stones all her adult life. She'll be discussing all-things Stone Lands with Margate-based writer Ryan J. Smith.
