What is a gongbath?

A gongbath is different from a soundbath as it focuses purely on the gongs, which allows for a deeper meditation experience. You will rest on the floor, make yourself comfortable and let the sounds of the gongs take you on a wonderful journey.

What do I need to bring?

You will need to bring a yoga mat, pillow, blanket, eye covering and a bottle of water. Make sure you have everything you need to make yourself as comfortable as possible.

Who is this for?

Anyone over 18 years of age who would like to experience the therapeutic sounds of the gongs in this incredible location. This is a rare opportunity and the gongs will sound amazing in this setting. No previous experience is needed and all will be explained beforehand.

Is there parking close by?

There is no parking at the church but there are various car parks in the centre of Guildford very close to the venue.

The gongs are powerful therapeutic instruments. The benefits are vast and depend on the individual, but the most common are relaxation, stress reduction, reduced anxiety, better sleep. It also slows down the heart rate,, breathing and mental activity, creating a sense of calm and peace.

Who is hosting the gongbath

The gongbath is hosted by Jez Smith of Ancient Sacred Sounds who is an experienced sound therapist and historical musician. Through hearing loss he has developed a multi-sensory method which is unique and allows a sensitive approach to playing the gongs and working with the acoustics of the venue.
