Autistic and ADHD individuals often find they are “too hard on themselves” or “overthink everything.” Beneath this lies a powerful and persistent inner critic shaped by neurodivergence, lived experience, and years of misunderstanding or masking. This inner voice can influence perceived self-worth, relationships, burnout, and the ability to rest, take risks, or seek support.

Join Dr Jo Mueller for a compassionate, evidence-based exploration of the inner critic in autistic and ADHD minds. Together, we’ll unpack where this voice comes from, how it shows up, and why traditional self-esteem advice often misses the mark for neurodivergent people. This workshop offers a validating and practical space to better understand your internal world and begin cultivating a more self-compassionate relationship with yourself.

Workshop Highlights:

  • Explore what the inner critic is, and how it develops in autistic and ADHD individuals
  • Understand the roles of masking, trauma, social expectations, and internalised stigma
  • Learn why self-compassion can feel difficult, and how to approach it in a neurodivergent-affirming way
  • Discover practical, accessible strategies to soften self-criticism and build a kinder internal dialogue
