Sensory Regulation; A Practical Session (for Parents & Carers)
This sensory session explores practical techniques to support emotional regulation for neurodivergent people.
DIFFERabled are deighted to share Jen Wilson with our community, offering key sessions to parents and carers. Together, we will learn more about neurodivergence and how best to support the neurodivergent people in our life.
This sensory session explores practical techniques to support emotional regulation for neurodivergent people. Using simple, body-based tools, you will learn how to calm both the body and the mind, release muscle tension, and gently support your parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest).
It will include how to support the Vagus Nerve, the body's built-in pathway for rest, safety, and calm. When we learn to work with it rather than against it, we create real change in how our nervous system responds to the world around us. Jen will show you how to use tools like body fascia twists, prickle balls, spiky pods, resistance bands, long hot water bottles, and gentle vibration can support your nervous system, giving you techniques you can use.
Intentional movement is also part of this session. Movement is not just physical. It is essential for brain development and nervous system regulation, and when we move with purpose and awareness, we give the brain and body what they need to feel safe, focused, and regulated..
Please note that although this session can be attended by any local authority, we are a Scottish charity based in Glasgow. And therefore, there may be discussion around local guidelines, regulations and/or authority.
Who is it for:
Parents and carers of neurodivergent children and young people.
(It is not appropriate for proffesionals to attend this session, we kindly request that you check our website for available workplace training).
