A supportive session on relationships, puberty & growing up for children with SEND—safe, practical guidance for parent carers.
We would love to invite you to join us for an upcoming online session:
Talking Together About Relationships & Sex Education. For parents of Children and Young People with SEND
We know that conversations about relationships, growing up, and sexual development can feel daunting — especially when your child or young person has additional needs. You don’t have to navigate this alone. This friendly and informative session will be led by Claire Lightley, a specialist in Relationships and Sex Education (RSE). Claire previously worked with FPA (the national sexual health charity) and now runs Bodysense Education, supporting families and professionals across the UK.
During the session, we will explore:
- Understanding puberty and body changes
- Supporting your child with periods
- Using clear, safe language around body parts and sex
- Self‑stimulation: what’s typical, and how to respond
- Helping your child understand public and private behaviours
- What to expect as your child gets older
- Time for group questions, plus the option to ask questions privately
This session is designed to be supportive, respectful, and non-judgemental — a safe space to learn and ask questions. If you have any questions in advance, please feel free to get in touch.
