Pop-up PAT Testing

Got cables, chargers or laptops kicking around your workspace? If it plugs into a wall, it needs to be safe.

Booking a professional to come out and test your gear usually comes with a hefty minimum call-out fee of £50+VAT. That’s a lot of cash if you only have a few things to check.

We’re bringing the tester to you. Drop into ICE on Thursday 25th June, grab a coffee, and get your equipment certified for a fraction of the usual cost.

How it Works & Pricing

Attending the event is completely free—you only pay for what you need tested.

• ICE Members: £3 per item
• Non-Members: £6 per item

⚡ Bonus Coworking Perks: Want to make a day of it? Anyone getting items PAT tested is welcome to grab a hot desk and cowork at the ICE hub for the day, absolutely free! Bring your laptop, get it tested, and stick around to get some work done.

What's PAT Testing (and why do I need it?)

PAT stands for Portable Appliance Testing. In plain English: it’s a quick safety check to make sure your electrical gear won't give you a shock, blow a fuse, or start a fire.

If you're a freelancer, remote worker, small business owner, or maker, keeping your kit tested is incredibly handy because:

• It keeps you insured: Many business insurance policies are invalid if an untested laptop charger causes damage.
• Venues require it: If you ever take your laptop, projector, or tools to client sites, coworking spaces, or events, they will often ask to see your PAT stickers.
• Peace of mind: It’s a cheap way to ensure your favorite tech isn't secretly a hazard.

What can you bring?

Anything with a plug! This includes:

• Laptops and phone chargers
• Extension leads and monitors
• Kettles, coffee machines, and heaters
• Power tools and studio lighting

Spaces are limited, so please register your free attendance ticket so we can gauge numbers for the day. Bring your items along, and we'll handle the rest!
