For one night only, GRES Império da Rainha welcomes special guests direct from Rio: Carlinhos Salgueiro, internationally renowned samba choreographer and Artistic Director of the Acadêmicos do Salgueiro and its Passistas (Samba dancers), alongside Mestres Guilherme and Gustavo Oliveira, the leaders of the legendary Bateria Furiosa of Acadêmicos do Salgueiro.

Born and raised in the heart of Salgueiro's community in Rio de Janeiro, Guilherme and Gustavo have dedicated their lives to samba and have performed with some of Brasil's biggest artists. Today, they command one of the most respected and powerful carnival drum sections in the world.

Hosted by Liani Devito, Passista do Salgueiro and founder of London's award-winning GRES Império da Rainha, this unforgettable evening brings together authentic Rio Carnaval culture, live percussion, spectacular samba performances and the infectious energy that makes Brazilian Carnaval famous worldwide.

GRES Império da Rainha is a London-based School of Samba and Community Interest Company (CIC) dedicated to promoting authentic Brazilian culture through dance, drumming and community engagement.

We are a completely self-funded organisation. Every ticket purchased helps support our activities, rehearsal spaces, costumes, instruments and cultural projects throughout the year.
