Artists’ Footsteps: A Guided Art Tour of Stockwell
Learn about famous artists who lived here, linger on beautiful squares and meet sculptures and buildings connected to remarkable people.
This is a walking tour exploring artists and art in Stockwell. We will meet a bronze woman, pass the home of a war poet, a church that employed a renowned composer, and the birthplace and teenage home of a whimsical artist who inspired and delighted generations of children and adults. We will visit a place of natural beauty inspired by a famous artist, who also found a temporary home in Stockwell.
The tour will start at Stockwell Memorial Gardens and finish at Printworks on Clapham Road.
Your guide is Lucia van der Drift. Lucia is a lively and knowledgeable speaker. She is a member of the Lambeth Tour Guide Association. She is a writer and facilitator of events promoting wellbeing through engagement with artworks in a gallery context. She regularly gives workshops for The National Gallery, The Royal Collection Trust and The Wallace Collection.
