Sleep and Mental Health Session Delivered Online via Microsoft Teams
For people living or working in Tayside only.
Promotes greater understanding of the function and benefits of sleep and the possible consequences of sleep deprivation.
The importance of sleep has become increasingly recognised as a vital factor for physical and mental health and over-all wellbeing.
Obtaining adequate, quality sleep can lower the risk of health conditions such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease, whilst promoting resilience, engagement and memory. Studies indicate sleep deprivation may result in productivity losses of up to £1,300 per employee per year, and sleep problems in general may cost the economy more than £55 billion per year (in part due to absenteeism and related accidents).
The sleep workshop highlights the main sleep factors and introduces participants to ‘sleep hygiene’ methods.
