Framwellgate Moor school suffered a significant cyber attack which impacted upon their ability to operate. Hear first hand from those who led and supported the school through the incident. What they experienced and the lessons they learned. Every cyber attack is different and this experience has helped the school improve its resilience and capability in this space. The school wish to share those lessons with colleagues and stakeholders. Not only they know now, but what they need for the future. Use their experience to help you prepare.

The DfE's Digital and Technology Standards position digital leadership as a strategic responsibility for school leaders. Rather than viewing technology as solely an operational IT function, the standards expect headteachers and governing bodies to provide leadership and governance over digital strategy, infrastructure, cyber security, investment and risk management to support educational outcomes. This session will explore the building blocks of a successful transformation programme for senior school leaders and how to ensure schools are efficiently and effectively on track to meet the standards.

A data breach is far more than an IT problem; it is crisis for the whole school. It can disrupt teaching and learning, compromise the privacy and safety of pupils and staff, and damage the school's reputation. It can also erode trust with parents and the community, lead to financial costs and regulatory scrutiny, and consume significant leadership time. Recovery can take months, diverting attention from the school's core purpose of improving outcomes for children. This session will update delegates on the latest best practice to ensure the risk of data breaches are minimised, and how to manage them should they occur.

Cyber attacks on all organisations are now a fact for anyone operating in the modern world. Their impact on a school could be devastating, not just for the school but for the many young people and parents reliant on the school to operate effectively. This is even more vital at key moment in a students life like examinations. School’s manage challenging situations on a regular basis, however a cyber attack brings with it many additional leadership challenges. This session will allow delegates to reflect and consider how their school leadership is currently positioned to deal with a cyber attack, and what support can be provided to ensure they deliver the best response possible.
