Swansea Illustrators Club Presents: Composition Tips & Tricks

Ever wonder how to make a viewer physically unable to look away from your artwork?

Join the Swansea Illustrators Club [SIC] for an engaging, hands-on workshop on the secrets of composition, presented by TS Wolfe—freelance illustrator and science communicator.

Whether you're plotting out a complex narrative scene or just trying to make a standalone character pop, the underlying grid of your image changes everything. In this session, TS Wolfe will demystify the Harmonic Armature—a classical geometric grid system used to build rock-solid compositions.

In this workshop, you will learn how to:

Utilise the harmonic armature method to plan and balance your illustrations.

Hold viewer interest and establish a clear visual hierarchy.

Create visual loops using compositional vectors—directing the viewer's gaze so their eyes continuously circulate through your artwork.

All skill levels are welcome! Bring your sketchbook and your favorite drawing tools.
