It explores international law’s ambitions and failures in addressing nuclear threats, highlighting how nuclear-armed states reflect enduring imperial and regional power structures. It also considers overlooked issues, including nuclear supply chains, radioactive waste, and weapons testing. Finally, it analyses how rising AI energy demands and net zero commitments are driving nuclear expansion, exposing the limits of international law.
