Two days on the water. No experience needed. No membership needed.

Our 2 Day Fun Taster is the ideal first step into sailing for children aged 8–15. A qualified instructor sails in the boat with a small group of up to three juniors, teaching the basics through games, quizzes and hands-on activities. Confident children can have a go at crewing the boat themselves, with the instructor right alongside in a powerboat.

It isn’t a formal qualification course — it’s two days of discovering whether your child loves sailing. Every child receives a participation certificate, and those who catch the bug can move straight on to our beginner sailing courses running throughout the summer.

The details

Who: Ages 8–15 (16+ should book our adult courses). Children must be confident in deep water, but don’t need to be strong swimmers

When: Thursday–Friday, 23–24 July or 6–7 August 2026, 9.30am–4pm each day

Where: Draycote Water Sailing Club, Kites Hardwick, near Rugby, CV23 8AB

Cost: £155 for the two days, all kit included

We provide: wetsuit, buoyancy aid and helmet

You bring: swimwear, footwear that can get wet, towel, hat, sun cream and a packed lunch

Please arrive five minutes before the 9.30am start at the Waterside Reception, at the front of the Clubhouse. Changing rooms, showers and lockers are on site, with free parking for course families (just register your number plate on the tablet in reception each day).
