We run the RYA Youth Sailing Scheme at Draycote Water, with weekly courses across the summer holidays taught by skilled, enthusiastic instructors at the RYA Club of the Year 2024.

Stage 3 — £325 (Stage 2 required) — learn to sail in any direction and in stronger winds. By the end of this course your child is a sailor, not a beginner.

Stage 4 — £325 (Stage 3 required) — the move into double-handed boats: more power, a crew, and the techniques that come with both.

Stages must be completed in order. If your child hasn’t sailed for a while since their last course, we recommend a Refresher Day first — contact us and we’ll advise.

The details

Who: Ages 8–15 (16+ should book our adult courses)

When: courses start Monday 20 July, 27 July, 3 August and 10 August 2026 — Monday to Friday, 9.30am–4pm each day

Where: Draycote Water Sailing Club, Kites Hardwick, near Rugby, CV23 8AB

Cost: £325

We provide: wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet and RYA certificate

You bring: swimwear, footwear that can get wet, towel, hat, sun cream and a packed lunch

Please arrive five minutes before the 9.30am start at the Waterside Reception, at the front of the Clubhouse. Changing rooms, showers and lockers are on site, with free parking for course families.

Draycote Water Sailing Club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre. The courses on this page follow the national RYA Youth Sailing Scheme and lead to an RYA certificate on completion.
