Links with Nature: Wild Crafts and Guided Walk

Links with Nature: Wild Crafts and Guided Walk

Top Organizer
Overview

Join us this September for a free, introductory session to Links with Nature's wellbeing programme.

Improve your overall wellbeing, connect with nature and have fun doing so!

We will be taking a short guided walk of the Red Burn and wider Rainton Meadows Nature Reserve, looking at the flora and fauna and gathering inspiration for the second half of our session - wild crafts. Here, we will be using natural materials such as leaves, berries, seeds and twigs to create natural collages depicting wildlife seen on our walk.

This session is designed to introduce attendees to the types of activities included in Links with Nature's wellbeing programme - a series of beginner-friendly, guided nature-based activities set in the Coalfield area of Sunderland. We welcome anyone to come and participate, whether you have engaged with the Links with Nature project before or not. No craft or art experience required - everyone is invited to come and do something creative in nature!

All craft materials, wildlife guides and resources will be provided. Please wear clothing appropriate for the weather. Closed-toe shoes, long trousers and long sleeves are advised. Please bring a snack and water with you.

Date: Friday 4th September

Time: 10:30am - 13:30pm

Meeting point: Bellamy Room, Rainton Meadows Visitor Centre

If you have any concerns or questions surrounding accessibility, please contact Engagement Officer, Mary-Anne, at marielly@durhamwt.co.uk or call us on 0191 5843112 and ask for Mary-Anne.
