Improvisation – An Introduction to Applied Improvisation
A fun, gentle introduction to applied improvisation, building confidence, creativity and communication through practical activities.
An Introduction to Applied Improvisation!
Discover how improvisation can be used for far more than performance or comedy with Dave Bourn.
This practical two-hour session introduces the core principles and skills of applied improvisation through a lively mixture of exercises, activities and a little theory. Participants will explore how improvisation can support greater confidence, creativity, communication, collaboration, listening, adaptability and the ability to respond more comfortably in the moment.
The session will be active, playful and enjoyable, but there will be no pressure to be funny, perform scenes or come up with clever ideas. Activities will be carefully structured so that everyone can participate at their own pace, without being singled out, put on the spot or made to feel exposed.
No previous improvisation experience is required. The session is ideal for complete beginners, as well as anyone with some experience who would like to refresh their understanding of the fundamental skills.
Come prepared to experiment, connect with others and discover how the principles of improvisation can be applied both professionally and personally.
