Lighthouse Futures Trust Open Evening

Location: Carlton House, 3-5 Alma Road, Headingley, Leeds, LS6 2AH

Our Pre-Internship Programme runs for one or two years, following the Leeds City Council academic year across three terms. It’s designed to help interns grow in confidence, explore their strengths, and take real steps towards the world of work.

Supported Internships are work-based programmes for young adults aged 18–25 with an EHCP, as well as young people taking part in our non-EHCP Supported Internship pilot. Our internships are designed to empower young people with SEND and those with additional support needs to develop the skills, confidence, and experience needed to successfully move into paid employment.

Our trained Job Coaches work alongside students at our Employer hosts (placements including John Lewis, NHS, KPMG, Crag House Farm, Arla & many more) where Supported Interns will work as part of a small team with dedicated work-based buddies for 3 or 4 days a week. The remaining 1 or 2 days of the week are spent at our college site in Headingley working on a varied and engaging curriculum focused around employability, independence skills & well-being.

This Open Event is for anyone hoping to find out more about Internships and what these look like in practice.
