Things with Wings at Elemore Park
Join us on a free guided walk of Elemore Park as part of Links with Nature's Wild Wanders programme. Theme: Things with Wings!
Join us on Friday 25th September from 10:00am - 12:00pm for our next Wild Wander: Things with Wings at Elemore Park!
We will be taking a walk around Elemore Park, led by Engagement Officer, Mary-Anne. The theme of this walk is Things with Wings - in celebration of all winged creatures of the park, from ladybirds to songbirds! Mary-Anne will talk us through the different winged species we encounter, explaining the importance of each to the wider habitat and other wildlife. All ID materials including guides and lenses will be provided.
Please meet Mary-Anne at the park entrance (what3words///cabbies.evidence.fade) for 10am, where free parking is available. Mary-Anne will then lead the group into and around the park, returning to the park entrance for 12pm.
Everyone welcome - no prior experience or knowledge necessary! Under 18s are also welcome, provided they attend with a parent or guardian. We kindly ask that no dogs are brought along to Wild Wanders, with the exception of guide and assistance dogs. Please dress appropriately for the weather. Closed-toed shoes, long sleeves and long trousers are advised.
Please note, this walk may involve walking off path and up/down hills. If you have any concerns surrounding accessibility, please contact our Engagement Officer, Mary-Anne, at marielly@durhamwt.co.uk or call us on 0191 5843112 and ask for Mary-Anne.
This walk is part of Links with Nature's ongoing Wild Wanders programme - free, guided nature walks across our 12 greenspaces - every 2nd Sunday and 4th Friday of the month. Keep an eye out on our Eventbrite page for details of each walk!
