Urras nan Tursachan (The Standing Stones Trust) is a local charity dedicated to preserving, researching, and sharing the rich archaeological heritage of the Calanais Standing Stones. Events presented by The Trust are supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Date: Wednesday 9th September 2026Time: 2.00PM-3.00PMLocation: Multi-Function Suite, Calanais Visitor CentreFormat: Bilingual Event, with a Gaelic-first approachWe will be hosting our first Scottish Archaeology Month event for 2026 on Wednesday 9 September, focus on community storytelling and memories of Calanais.Join us at the Calanais Visitor Centre for a relaxed afternoon of community storytelling and memories of Calanais as part of Scottish Archaeology Month 2026.Hear local stories and memories of growing up in Calanais, reflections on how the area has changed over the years, and stories from those who have been closely connected with the Visitor Centre.The conversation will also explore the journey of the Visitor Centre itself – from its earlier days through to its redevelopment, reopening and the exciting progress being made today.This informational, conversational event will bring together local voices.
