The Community Cinema is proud to host BA Art and Technology with an evening featuring the screening of Valerie Veatch’s 2026 documentary, Ghost in the Machine, accompanied by pre-show student short films.

Unpacking the socio-political complexities of modern AI, the documentary traces AI’s historical roots in eugenics and exposes its hidden impacts on modern society. Each chapter densely references diverse aspects of AI, challenging its facade as a flawless and efficient tool, reshaping how we perceive AI.

The main feature is followed by an experimental workshop led by Pauline van Mourik Broekman (Head of Histories and Theories, BA Art and Technology), exploring the lived realities of working and studying with AI.
