The Netherwood - Winter Musical Audition 2026 - Ages 8 - 12.

We provide a wide range of drama and theatre related workshops (acting, improvisation, singing, dancing and design) for young people aged 6-25 and opportunities to perform in major theatre productions. We also support local schools by delivering teacher training and drama activities both in and out of school time and undertake partnership projects with community groups and other agencies who wish to use drama as a medium for learning.

The StoryStep into The Netherwood: a brand-new family musical where festive lights meet ancient fairy magic, and the shortest day of the year becomes a fight for the future of the woodland.When 13-year-old Robin discovers a hidden world of elves, pixies, fairies, dryads and tree spirits, they uncover a secret: the forest is alive, the fae are divided, and a new festive attraction may destroy the very magic it is trying to celebrate.Funny, festive, mysterious and full of heart, The Netherwood is an ensemble musical about ecology, belonging, youth voice and rediscovering a greener kind of celebrationAudition InformationWe're looking for dynamic and energetic performers aged 8 - 25 for our forthcoming production of 'The Netherwood' - A new Musical by OTW..The audition will be a friendly, workshop style audition, which will include Movement, Voice and Acting.Please prepare a verse and chorus of an upbeat song - this will be performed unaccompanied.Please choice a song that allows us to hear your natural voice.Please wear comfortable clothing as you will be expected to take part, freely in physical activity.We want to create a company where everyone feels valued regardless of their background, identity, or circumstances. Therefore, we actively encourage people with different backgrounds to join us. Production InformationProduction week will run from Friday 11th December - Saturday 19th December 2026Working with the OTW team you will create a new musical that will be the perform in Oldham Theatre Workshop - Studio 1.The production week will include a dress and tech rehearsal as well as performances on -Friday 11th December - Sunday 13th December - Final rehearsals, Tech and Dress.Monday 14th December - Saturday 19th December 2026 - PerformancesPerformance will include matinee and evening performance.7 performances in total.Please note; if you are NOT available for the entirety of the production week, From Friday 11th December - Saturday 19th December 2026 you will sadly not be able to take part in the production.If you have a holiday book in the run up to the performance, please speak with the OTW team before booking your audition.OTW has an ongoing relationship with industry professionals, and we promise to try to invite Agents and Casting Directors to the performances. Rehearsal InformationWeekly rehearsals will take place at OTW on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00PM - 9:00PM as of Monday 7th September 2026.Intensive rehearsal week - We will be rehearsing over the October Half term, from Sunday 25th October - Thursday 29th October, From 10.00am - 2.00pm.Some weekend rehearsals may take place as we move closer to the performance.Production Fees:Should you be successful in gaining a place in the company you will be asked to pay one of the following fees:-If you live inside Oldham: £144 (or if in receipt of benefit) £77If you live outside Oldham: £168 (or if in receipt of benefit) £83We always strive to make our productions accessible for everyone, so if for any reason you would like to take part but feel unable to please do get in touch with us to discuss how we can support you.If you have any other questions or queries, please contact the OTW office on 0161 770 3240
