How Neurodevelopmental Difference Became Understood: A Living History
Trace changing ideas about neurodevelopmental differences and explore their influence on language, identity and support.
Our understanding of neurodevelopmental difference has been shaped by changing science, culture, activism and power. This session makes that history usable rather than leaving it in the past.
You will leave with a clearer historical map and more thoughtful language for present-day conversations.
Who it’s for
This webinar is for neurodivergent professionals who want practical insight into their own working lives, and for managers, HR and People teams, DEI and L&D professionals, educators, coaches, practitioners, colleagues and allies who want to make neuroinclusion more informed and useful. You do not need a diagnosis or prior specialist knowledge to attend.
What you’ll explore
- The major ideas and turning points that shaped today’s language
- How medical, social and neurodiversity perspectives differ
- Whose voices were centred, ignored or harmed in earlier accounts
- What this history changes about inclusion and support now
