Location TBD
Overview

Join founding figure of trans studies Susan Stryker for a wide-ranging conversation about her career!

Join GLINTS (Glasgow Lab for Intersex, Non-Binary and Trans Studies) for a conversation with Prof Susan Stryker (Stanford), one of the founders and leading practitioners of the interdisciplinary field of trans studies. Prof Stryker will be in conversation with Dr Ruth Pearce (Glasgow) about her life and career, the trans studies field, and her new book, Changing Gender: The History and Future of a Concept (Serpent's Tail, 2026). Prof Stryker will be launching Changing Gender later that evening with an event at Category Is Books.

All are welcome: especially students and academics with an interest in the field of trans studies, and those with lived experience of being trans in higher education and academia. Please note that by registering for this event, you are agreeing to abide by GLINTS's Statement of Values.

The event will be held in an accessible room on the University of Glasgow campus. The exact location will be sent to registered attendees nearer the time.

This event is part of the Trans History Festival co-sponsored by GLINTS and Category Is Books. See here for the other events in the festival programme.
