Building Resilience on Farm: Responding to Extremes - Easter Ross

Overview

Join us at Rhynie Farm to discuss how changing weather is affecting Scottish arable farming and how farmers can build resilience.

Join us at Rhynie Farm by kind permission of the Ross family where we will discuss how changing weather patterns are affecting arable farming in Scotland and what farmers can do to build resilience on farm.

The meeting will look at how cropping choices and rotations can help manage weather extremes alongside practical approaches to soil structure, water management and water resilience. We will explore how to make best use of water available on farm, as well as changing trends in water availability and scarcity.

We will also be joined for the afternoon session at Balintore Hall by Peter Wright from SEPA, and Craig Forster from Highwater who will provide their expertise on water monitoring and building resilience on farm.

Please ensure you have appropriate footwear for a morning on farm.

Lunch will be provided therefore booking is essential.
